Question:
Has anyone out there had success in getting Coventry to pay for your surgery?

Coventry states it will pay for the coverage if you are a Federal Employee. My husband is retired from the Air Guard, so he would be Federal. They are refusing to pay stating that the surgery isn't necessary.    — Judy N. (posted on May 14, 2005)

I am sorry that I don't have any information about Coventry, but do they have a way to appeal the decision. And also could you get your Family Doctor to say that it is medically necessary for such and such reasons and sign it. Then appeal to the insurance company. Possibly show them statistics about how NOT having the surgery, will cost them more, later down the road, if you can do a search for statistics. As far as I now, the statistics I have found support bariatric surgery. I hope this helps some. Maybe someone with even more knowledge about Coventry can tell you more. Stick in there and don't give up the fight!!
