Question:
Will B12 injection improve metabolism? As compared to B12 sublingual?

I'm not sure that either will improve metabolism, but B-12 is essential for good neurological health. Those with RNY bypass need one or the other, some can absorb the sublingual B-12 just fine, while others need to get the shot to get the B-12 into their system. The only way to know for sure how much B-12 you have is to have labwork done and track those values over time. Remember, lab values can be dropping and you can start feeling cruddy long before the values drop below "normal" range. It is almost always easier to try and prevent the drop rather than try and correct it once it gets too low. This goes for any level, not just B-12.

B12 will not improve your metabolism but I will say that one of the symptoms that you can experience from low B12 levels is lack of energy which of course can contribute to not being motivated to exercise and we know that exercise is the greatest booster of metabolism. I had a B12 shot in July because my levels had dropped below normal range and the shot definitely gave me a boost in energy. Since then I bought the B12 sublingual and I am trying them for 2 months will go back at the end of Sept for another level check. I definitely feel a drag if I miss it for a day.

Both B12 do the same and the main purpose of the B12 is for energy post op patients right out of surgery can not eat drink the required protein everyday...so B12 will help with that.....since you are now eating more often smaller amounts and the body rids of this quicker you can not get the vit. and minerals from food that u use to so u add in the multi-vit. and calcium B12 and some females will add Iron to get what your body needs the main thing that must be fueled is muscles....because your heart is a muscle and no one wants that going with out...
