Question:
Anyone heard of an endocinch?

Hi, I have the dreaded stretched stoma and after 4 years of searching for a remedy, and having several bariatric surgeons (including the one who did the original surgery 8 years ago) tell me "nothing can be done" I found a bariatric surgeon who wants to do an endocinch. This procedure basically goes through an endoscopy tube and sews folds around the stoma. It was developed for acid reflux originally. Luckily for me my pouch is still intact and small. I am very hopeful that this will finally give me the proper tools to deal with this problem. any info would be appreciated...Thanks....Bill    — bandmancwc (posted on September 17, 2005)

I haven't heard of this one. I have heard of sclero-therapy or lap band being done for this problem. For sclero they inject the stoma with something to make it hard and form scar tissue.

Bill, I am a new post op....can you tell me how you could gain all of your weight back if your pouch is still intact...I am assuming you were stapled and not cut. There are times I think I can eat too much and too often and wonder is my stoma bigger than it should be. If your pouch is still small, what happens when you eat? What you are going through may be something I end up going through also. thanks! teresa
