Question regarding Dr. P of BTC

I was turned down by BTC. I talked with Dr. P. He seemed very nice, even while turning me down. I have asthma and their hospital is not equipped for life support. Any one needing life support would have to be shipped out via helicopter according to BTC. I mean a ventilator, while I say life support.    — [Anonymous] (posted on August 10, 1999)

It never hurts to get a second opinion. Check with other doctor maybe in another town. Good luck.

BTC is very cautious about who they accept for surgery. Since they are not a large hospital with intensive care facilities etc, they do not treat high-risk patients. There are other bariatric surgeons in michigan who do the surgery at larger hospitals. You may still be a candidate for surgery, at the right facility. Good Luck!
