Question:
What happens to the unused stomach and intestines as time passes?

As I understand it - both are still functioning in a rny. The stomach secrets digestive juices which empty into an intestine which joins with another intestine which is attached to your "pouch" - forming a "y" shape which becomes one common intestine and goes on to become large intestine - just my poor way of explaining it - better to look at a diagram. I understand that rarely would your original stomach be removed - expect for cancer. etc.
