Question:
Anyone experience uncontrollable sneezing after eating?

Ok, here is the wierdest question I have asked so far. I have seen nothing on this in here yet. After eating too much I seem to experience uncontrollable sneezing (maybe 10 sneezes at a time). Doc says it has nothing to do with the surgery, but, this started about 3 months afterwards and only when I eat meat and too much of it. I am sure that it has "something" to do with the surgery as this has never happened before it. I know this is not life threatening, nor is it important, just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. Barbara-6/99--280, 5/2000-118 BPD/DS    — BARBARA R. (posted on May 13, 2000)

Barbara: I've started doing something very similar. On a cruise at 6 mo post op I found my sinuses filling up every night after dinner. No sneezing, but I was filling up 3 to 4 kleenexes. Since then this often happens when I'm at a restaurant. Perhaps the temptation to push our limits is there, or perhaps it is related to meat -- dunno! I do know that twice since then I have also had to vomit, but really didn't bring up dinner, just gobs of muchous. I'm also BPD/DS at 7 months post op and have no other limitations on my eating (excepting, of course, quantity). I mentioned this at a support group and while one other post op agreed that she could tell if she was overly full because her eyes got teary, everyone else acted like I was nuts. Anyone else out there?

Oh my gosh, Barbara, I thought it was just me! I have had this happening ever since surgery. It just happened yesterday! I was eating a chicken sandwich from Burger King (well, part of it anyway) and at the time I thought it might have something to do with the sesame seeds. I've experienced this a lot, however, and only while I'm eating. I wonder why we do this? Very strange.......

Okay, this has nothing to do with sneezing but... Everyday after lunch, I get the hiccups. I'm not eating too fast and it's only midday never morning or evening. After I read the sneezing post it just reminded me of the weird things that seems to happen to us sometimes.

I sneeze when I eat meat too fast and get that feeling of you better not eat another bite of this or else. I thought I was the only one this ever happened to. Glad to see that I'm not. This absolutely has to be surgery related. Never happened to me after eating before and now it does whenever I start to feel like I've eaten something that won't go down.

Yes, I sneeze and hiccup and gets a very runny nose. I will usually throw-up when any of this happeneds. This is a weird side effect!
