Question:
anyone found out they are approved before the surgeon office

I called the insurance office on Fri. Said I had been approved. called Dr.s office and they said they did not have that info yet. This ever happen to anyone on here? It has only been 1 week since papers were sent in, and that was by mail.    — [Anonymous] (posted on September 1, 2001)

I had the same thing happen to me/ i received my approval letter and the Dr.'s office had nothing/ i faxed them the info, i figured better to have two letters at their office than none, and i wanted to get the ball rolling/ I have john deere ins. the scheduling nurse has been off all week but i hope to schedule my surgery for sometime in november (or so they say)/ we'll see

I really think this is a common thing. If you stay on top of your ins. co. and talk to them often. The same thing happened to me. I told my surgeon office I was approved and recieved letter confirmation in the mail from the ins. co. before they called to schedule my date. It was the back log of messages at my doctor's office. No more than that. God Bless!

Very Common occurance. I got my verbal approval over the phone with the insurance company and the surgeons office didnt get the approval letter until five days later. So yes it is normal.

Yes. This happened to me too. I called the insurance company after about 3 days and they said I was approved. However, the surgeons office did not find out for about another 2 or 3 days.

yes, I think this happens all of the time. they faxed my paperwork on the 16 and i got my approval on the 19th. i did not know it had been sent. I called my doctor's office and then faxed it to them.
