Have you spoken to your dr? I had this and had a sricture which resulted in endoscopy and dilation. Don't delay in talking to your doctor. It only gets worse.

If you are fairly early on post-op, then you likely have a stricture. I had 2 and the symptoms you describe sound very familiar. You can read my experience on my profile page. You need to alert you surgeon so that he can get you in for a scope/dilation. Hope you feel better soon!

I am 3 weeks out and get this feeling when I eat certain things. It feels like someone's standing on my chest and I can't breathe. I too have to make myself throw up to relieve it. I thought this ws normal and I was just taking too big of bites. Can you tell me what exactly a stricture is? Thanks!

HEY, I AM 3 MTHS. POST-OP AND HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM UP UNTIL ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. MY SURGEON DID AN ENDOSCOPY AND FOUND OUT HTAT IT WASN'T A STRICTURE, BUT I HAD ALOT OF ACID BUILD UP AND COULDN'T GET THE FOOD DOWN RIGHT, SO HE PUT ME ON A STRONGER MEDICINE TO RELIEVE THAT WHICH WAS NEXIUM, SO IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD CALL YOUR DOCTOR TO HAVE THAT DONE. HOPE THIS INFO HELPS, GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Call the doctor now! Best case scenerio: it's a stricture. Worst case scenerio: an intestinal blockage. I had an intestinal blockage at about 1 month post op and nearly died from it. I had to have 2 surgeries to repair it. Good luck!
