Question:
Does anyone have ANY information on General American Insurance???
Im so confused, weight for life is dealing with my carrier and told me today that i neither had a ppo or hmo and talked about in-networking and out-networking, im so confused??? My insurance company is American General. I applied for the WLS on
12/16/99. My doctor applied for predetermination of surgery, I received a
letter the other day stating:
"While this plan does not provide for the predetermination of
benefits, it does have a pre certification requirement for all proposed
surgeries. Therefore, you should direct your inquiry to Excel Care."
So, after waiting two months, this is all I have heard from them and I am
still waitinng.

Approved by General American Insurance today. No problems.

Not an answer, but a queston for Sharon H. I have General American
Insurance too. I have been declined for the reason being that it says that
there is an exclusion for obesity. But it does not say morbid obesity.
Did your policy have an exclusion for obesity?
