Take vitamins with water. Wait a bit, then eat. No more drinking for at least an hour, then resume drinking water until a few minutes before next meal. If you eat and drink at the same time (or too soon after a meal), the liquid washes the food through your pouch and you'll eat too much or get hungry again too soon for best weight loss. Vitamins don't fill you up, since they dissolve pretty quickly. Just give them a chance to do so (15 minutes sounds fine) before you have your meal. It's not as complicated as it sounds.

Hi Ann, I understand your confusion but everyone has their own routine. I can share mine: I take all my meds with water including my multivitamin. I usually take my prescription Zantac first thing since that is supposed to reduce stomach acid. I then drink water for the first hour of the morning - I then have a protein drink and 1/2 hour later have my multivitamin at the same time as my B-12. I take my Tumslater in the day as I hear they can interfere with the multivitamin. Hope that helps. PS. I take 2 multivitamins and 4 tums daily in addition to B-12 and Zantac (im 4 weeks out)

How MUCH do you drink to take a couple of vites? If you're only drinking an oz or two, then taking your vites before your meal is fine. Iron & C need to be taken first and left alone for at least an horu before you take any other meds or vites. Your multi and calcium citrate and others can be spaced out throughout the afternoon and evening. Tums does not deliver any calcium to a WLS person, so unless your tummy hurts, you probably don't need those, but DO need calcium citrate + D + magnesium, at least 1500mg elemental calcium.

I met with my nutrionist Friday morning (which is a requirement from my surgeon prior to surgery) and she said that all medicines should be taken in liquid form or chewable. If this is the case then you shouldn't require too much liquid. Best of luck to you.
