Question:
Anyone know what happened to Dr. Yates, St. Louis, MO?

Dr. Yates suddenly stopped doing surgeries & is referring present patients to other surgeons. Does anyone know the reason??    — Randy L. (posted on July 10, 2001)

Dr. Yates did my wife's surgery and was going to do mine. What we found out is that he is moving to the Chicago area where he originally came from. This is just what we were told. Now I start looking for another doctor to do mine.

Dr. Yates did my surgery 052201. I just heard also that he was retiring from practice and moving. My girlfriend requested he do hers. So she is now going with Dr. Mitchell. He is in the same office.

I called Dr. Yates office and they have an answering maching that refers you to call the Newstart program. I did that and they refer you to one of 3 other surgeons in the St.Louis Area. Dr. Yates performed my surgery in February, I had a follow up visit scheduled with him for the 21st of July, which of course now is cancelled. I understand that he only announced the decision to close his practice/or move it on Monday. I read a rumor here on the message board and decided to investigate and am glad I did. Dr. Mitchell's office is not taking any more of Dr. Yates follow-up patients, as of this am Dr. Fabito is trying to fit them in. I am not happy, but will work through this difficulty just like I have all of the rest in my life. I had hoped for Dr. Yates to perform my tummy tuck in a year-or-so, guess I will find a surgeon closer to KC.

Randy, I talked to Cathy today and she confirmed that he was leaving his practice and taking a break from the medical field..She said we would be getting a letter in the next week or so telling us what was going on. She said not to get too stressed they were going to get in touch with all his patients.. I know I will miss him..He has given me a new life.
