Question:
Is anyone using Dr.Ferrari out of Houston, Texas and if so how long after approval

did it take before Neweigh called you with a surgery date. It has been a week and two days and still no call. I know I am being impatient. I am also using Dr Farreri. My first consult was Nov 19th. I didnt get my approval and surgery date till January. I fee that the holidays didnt help move things along as fast as I liked. I am really happy with everyone at Neweigh and am looking forward to my surgery on Marach 20th. I could have had it earlier but my daughter will be off for spring break and wanted to be with me. I am post-op RNY open patient of Dr. Ferrari's. My very first visit was Oct. 1 2000. I had to get a psyc evaluation & sleep study & OK from my primary care dr. After all that was done & everyone sent in their approvals they sent the info to the insurance around the last week in Nov. and it took only a week. I had to wait approx. one month before surgery (which I had a great time gaining another 11 lbs.) SO MANY people are doing this operation now that I'm sure the office staff are working double-time to get things done, and they are VERY good so be patient ... it is worth it! It has been 1 yr. 2 mos. and I've lost 101 lbs. from size 18/20 & some 22/24's to size 14. I'm doing great & feel great!!!

I think they gave me a date about a week after I was approved. The date was, however about 2 months out! I finally got everything together and approved in March and had my surgery mid-May. They did try to move my surgery up a few weeks, but I couldn't do that because I was starting a new job. You are like me. I was VERY impatient once I decided to do this. Don't be afraid to give them a call and find out when you can expect a date. Maybe they don't have your correct number. I have had that happen before! Good luck!
