Question:
Pre-op abdominal pain around ovulation time

I am still pre-op I get a sharp stabbing pain it feels like in my tubes. I just thought it was ovulation but it doubles me over in pain sometimes. I have a family history of problems ie. cysts in my mom just wondering if it could be something serious or if I am more sensitive to it. I never had this problem when I was younger. Not to be too gross but I am really heavy you know what I mean. Sorry to be so graphic but am starting to get worried. Anyone have a similar experience?    — Barb R. (posted on March 18, 2002)

I get a sharp pain, too. I'm told it's the egg releasing from the ovaries into the fallopian tubes. Some women can feel it and some women can't. You could have a more serious problem, though - I'd definitely get it checked out.

Most surgeons check everything while they are in there. Let the surgeon know and he can check you out.
