Question:
Any other Factor V Leiden patients out there?

I have Factor V Leiden (clotting disorder). I had a pulmonary embolism in 1998. I have been ordered to stay on Coumadin forever. Anyway, I am looking for other members who have this or other clotting disorders. I've been afraid to ask my PCP about surgery because I didn't think it was possible when you have Factor V. But, I have heard now that it is. If you did have the surgery, what precautions did they have to take with you? And yes...I am going to see my doctor tomorrow and will also talk to her.    — A M. I also get pe's when I have surgery. Even on coumadin I got them. I want to have this surgery but the fear of clots is always in the back of my mind. I was checked for a protein C condition and was found negative and have no problems otherwise just when I have surgery.
