Question:
I overdid it exercising, what can I do for pain?
Yesterday I went swimming for the first time and then later that night we went on a really long walk. I knew I would be sore, but this is rediculous. Since I am so sore, I was prone to get hurt again. I popped out my shoulder doing something as simple as brushing my hair. I tried putting heat on the shoulder, but it didn't work. I took some of my Lortab that I had left over from surgery. I am now hot and dizzy. Is it from the Lortab? It is over a month old. I guess I have two questions. How long can Lortab last before it expires - I know some liquid meds are only 10 days after being mixed. The other question is what else to use for pain? I am 6 weeks out and not allowed to take medicine other than Tylenol. — Heather M. (posted on July 3, 2003)

Try icing it down. Place an ice pack wrapped in a towel on the sore
shoulder and keep it there for 30 minutes. Do it twice or three times a
day. Do this for about a week and it should feel better. Also, continue
with the Tylenol. Hope you feel better!

Hi... the liquid lortab has sugar in it and can make you dump. Yep. It sure
can! That's why you are hot and dizzy... you are having a mild dumping
reaction, more serious dumping, you get "giggly" legs, too...
then it progresses into vomiting, etc. SO... only use that stuff if your
tylenol alone just doesn't help. Lortab liquid is usually good for 12
months from prescription date. After that, toss it. Tylenol is the best
for pain... you might just have to tuff it out. Sorry!

I found liquid tylenol at drugstore.com. It doens't taste the best in the
world, but if you mix with just a little juice or sf koolaid, it goes down
a little easier. bfor surgery I could take 6 tylenol at once and it
woudln't even faze me. Now, I can take 1 tbsp of it, and sleep for a few
hours (LOL!!) Good luck, and God bless!!

Heather,
Check with your doctor for a perscription, But I take 2 athritis tylenol
750mg each. I have also taken ultram fron the doc as it has not motrin in
it

Are Excedrin QuickTabs an option? They are Acetaminophen.

Excedrine Quick Dissolve tabs have a tom of caffeine in them so be careful!
