Question:
will i get approval?

I had a heart attack a year ago and my cardiologist suggested the surgery. I do have health problems and losing weight will drasticly help. Can you give me some idea if I will get approved or not. Everything has been submitted for approval I'm just waiting.    — kim R. (posted on August 12, 2004)

Kim, I have never had medicaid, but it is my understanding that they will pay if the surgery is medically necessary. With your BMI and weight related health problems there is a really good chance you will be approved. Good Luck.

Hi Kim; You should have no problem getting approved. You have a better chance with co-morbiditys than to just do it for cosmetic reasons. They only thing they may ask is if your heart is strong enough right now, they will probably need clearance from your cardiologist. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! Michelle Meyers, Rockford, Il.
