Question:
Anyone ever hear of Dr. Richard Symmonds?

LOL- I too see the irony in this name. He is out of Scott & White in Temple Texas. I requested information on him and they sent me a flyer. They hold monthly meetings and such, but I did not see any mention of him on this site. Any comments of other?    — toscamaddox (posted on February 11, 2001)

Dr. Richard Symmonds is head of the general surgery dept. at S&W in Temple, Tx and started the bariatric surgery program there back in June 2000. To date, he has performed the RNY procedure on over 35 people. There is a support meeting held every other Tuesday at the hospital. RN Paulette Whitfield is in charge of the group and is the contact person for the program. Dr. Symmonds use to perform the VBG years ago at S&W, but was not pleased with the results. He quit doing the surgery, until he heard about the RNY and was the first surgeon who trained under the Alvarado group's program for instructing surgeons.
