My side hurt very bad for about the first month post surgery. I asked the surgeon and he said that that is where he did most of his work in my upper right quadrant and that is why I was super sore there. Also try not to lift or do anything that may strain. Hope it starts feeling better.

For me it has been my back. I asked my doctor about that and he said that I probably am tensing my shoulders and hunching my back because my front is still somewhat tight and stiff from surgery. So, this is how I compensate. Also, he said that it can take up to 12 weeks for you to heal on the inside and any twisting or turning, just getting in and out of the car, can pull on scar tissue and hurt. Scar tissue isn't as flexible as regular muscles and it takes longer to relax or stretch them. Like the previous post said, most of the rearranging and pulling and tugging during surgery occurs on the left side. You are probably just pulling on some scar tissue or still healing from your surgery internally. It will ease over time, or so I've been told, LOL.

You didn't say when you had surgery. Yes, walking is great; too much walking and carrying packages and/or a big purse may be too much if you had surgery very recently.
