Question:
Any inexpensive, GOOD surgeons in Western US? And Flying ??

Does anyone recommend anyone specific out west who does RNY surgery fairly inexpensively. If everything else fails I may be self pay. Also, I've never flown. I weigh 315 and am wondering if I will have trouble flying - you know fitting into a seat or anything? I'm worried that that may limit my options. Advice anyone??    — Shelly S. I have a friend that did some research and found some doctors in San Diego that did the surgery for 17000.00 Open and 20,000. Lap. I don't know if that is considered a cheap price or not. My surgeon was awesome but the total for surgery was over 43,000.00. (insurance paid of course) Look up San Diego and see what you can find. Good Luck

My surgeon was Dr. Gorospe in Tulsa. I have heard several say that self pay was around $17,000.

I like Dr. Christian Oakley in Boise, ID. The whole cost for lap is around $23000.
