Question:
I need another Surgeon that accepts HealthNet HMO in California

HELP!!!... I thought I was happy because I got a referral, but that's just for a seminar which is 3 months away!!.. I want to know if there is anyone who got referred to Fresno Valley Surgical Specialists, but chose another doctor? I don't want to wait three months just for a seminar and then another 2 for a consultation. I have HealthNet CalPERS. HELP!    — Laydie K. (posted on March 22, 2002)

Hi Brandi...I also have healthnet and I'm in the Bay area. Is San francisco too far for you to travel? I am going to UCSF in SF and my surgeon will be Dr Marco Patti. They require lots of pre-op tests and such, and they require you lose 10% of your weight before you even meet with the surgeon. This sounds yucky, but word is-Dr Patti is one of the best and UCSF is also a "teaching" hospital-they HAVE to know what they're doing :> good luck to you.
