Question:
bronchitis and surgery this coming friday the 28th

less then 6days to go till my 3rd attmept at surgery and i have bronchitis... im on zithromax the 5day antibiotic(just started em yesterday) and im takin like 10 zinc lozenges/day is there anything else i can do to get this cleared up fast i also have athsma and have beeen taking my inhaler 2-3 times a day----my first attempt i woke up on a ventilator because of an unkown lung infection 2nd attempt i had an anxiety attack on the operating table i cant handle another cancellation    — TRULUV2329 (posted on June 23, 2002)

My PCP does not like to give out antibiotics unless it is really something bad. The last time I got bronchitis she gave me an antibiotic and also had me take 4 grams of Vitamin C. I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg chewable C. I chewed 8 a day. I felt better really quickly. I hope this helps.

I had the exact same situation and went through the surgery with flying colors. Keep up the zinc and vitamin C, and the antibiotic will kick in. Best wishes!

Drink as much water as you can.. tons of it.. and sleep. I discovered this last Christmas when I got terrible Bronchitis right before Christmas. Tried it again each time I got sick this past winter and recovered within a day or two each time. Drink till you float.. I didn't even eat that much, just drank water.
