Question:
What kind of wait for a surgery date?
I have an appointment at BTC in Wylie Texas on 4/24/03 for a revisit. I went for my consultation in Feb 2002. My insurance approved me for surgery after the first request was sent out. I was just wondering if anyone knows how long of a wait they have for the surgery? My doctor is Dr. Leverton. All the revisit is for is to make sure I still qualify for the surgery and so I can meet my doctor. I checked with my insurance to see if I have to submit another request for surgery and I was told no. So all the hard work is already done. Unfortunately, this all depends on your surgeon and how busy he is. I had
my surgery date scheduled even before my insurance approved it. That is
just how they did it in his office. I would call them and ask- can't hurt!

Hi! Every state is different and also how busy the doctor is, when I
finally got up the nerve to call after getting my referral for surgery, it
took from November 01 to March 02 for them to call me back and schedule the
very first consult with nutritionist. Then I waited until my surgeon called
me in August and scheduled my first consult with him in Sept 02. He called
me again on December 20, 2002 to give me the date for my surgery, March 24
2003. Yes my doctor does his own calling, something I had never heard of
before meeting him. My surgery will be done in Chicago, IL. Good luck to

your doctor is the only one who can tell how long a wait you will have,
based on his/her schedule and the availability of the hospital's
facilities. why don't you just ask him/her?

Thanks everyone who took the time to answer my question. I went ahead and
called BTC this evening and found out that within 10 days after my revisit
their scheduling department will call to set up a date for surgery. I
understand each doctor/clinic is different. I was just wondering if anyone
out there that had their surgery done at BTC, could give me an idea of how
long it took for them to get a surgery date. Thanks again everyone who
replied to my question!

Hello there! I also am a patient of BTC. My consult was 11-15-02, I
recieved a call from scheduling 12-22-02 with a surgery date of 1-30-03
