Question:
Joint pain after surgery?

I'm 3 months post-op and down 65 Lbs. and I guess its been in the last few weeks that I'v noticed that when I walk it feels like my hips are going to fall out of where they are ment to be, they just feel soooo loose is this normal? they hurt too? will they ever feel like my old legs again?    — krista G. Mine felt like that after the knee surgery and the DR told me that it was from not walking enough and that I have to build myself up. Once I got built up, the pain/feeling stopped.

Dear Krista...have your doc check you for hypermobile joints. I'm all loosey-goosey, too, especially in my hips. And my bursitis in my hips (for which I get cortisone shots) got worse SINCE losing 100 lbs. I had hypermobile joints well before surgery, but they just feel more so now. Not sure why. Hugs, Joy

Hi Krista, I'm 4 months post op, and I have the same problem. I have no idea why, but it feels like what you said and I have no clue why. I'm hoping it gets better. Sorry I don't have any answers, I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one:)

Hi, I'm 10 mos. out and I felt exactly the same way as you between my 3 and 7 mos. At my 6 mos. check up my PCP suggested that I take Shark Cartilage, it's often recommended to people with arthritis. He said I could get it at my local health food store. I never did do it, I'm a lifetime vegetarian, and the whole idea creeped me out. BUT, he felt that I was experiencing joint pain because of what my body was feeding off of..FAT...(sounds dumb now, but they way he said it, it made perfect sense) He said that once I stabled out and my weight-loss slowed the pain would start to get better. I'm 10 mos. out and my hips don't hurt anymore. -140 lbs. stuck at 150 lbs. :-)
