Question:
Can I take liquid calcium with some of my other vitamins?

I am currently taking a liquid calcium citrate. I also take my birth control (ortho try cyclen), synthroid, One A Day weightsmart, liquid B-12, and Nurishair from GNC. Is there any of these I can take together without harming anything. I feel like I take medication all day. Thanks for any input!!!    — Des812 (posted on May 2, 2003)

I too have to take Synthroid and I use liquid calcium citrate also. I checked with my pharmacist and was told that specifically iron (I have to take Trinsicon) and calcium products should not be taken within an hour either way from the thyroid medication. Since I have NO thyroid function, I am especially sensitive tot he need to be sure I get that medications in my body and have it be effective. I was also advised by the pharmacy to leave an hour either way between the iron and calcium. I take my calcium 3 times a day and do it with other vitamins just not with the iron or synthroid. Hope this helps!

I was told to take my calcium citrate with my lunch and dinner. I take my b-complex and vitamin in the morning when I get up. This was per instructions from my dietician. It has something to do with absorbtion and how it interacts with the multivitamin and the b-complex.
