Question:
3 months post-op and having dizzy spells after bending or squatting...

I just went to the doctor yesterday for my 3 month post-op visit and complained of dizzy spells. The doctor said it could be the beginning signs of dehydration, but I was already concerned about my blood pressure being low. It has stayed around 90/70 since 3 weeks post-op. She didn't seem too concerned about my blood pressure. Well today I was working in the garden and got dizzy everytime I bent or squatted. I even felt faint and like I was having a black out! Has anyone experienced this and IS THERE A CURE FOR LOW BLOOD PRESSURE? I've also heard that it could be a vitamin def. too. Any help would be appreciated. And no I'm probably not drinking enough water. I am just wondering if it is dehydration or blood pressure? Any one with this experience? Thanks,    — Patra R. (posted on August 27, 2003)

I have low bp (90/65) and get dizzy if I get up too fast. Sometimes if it's hot out, and I'm bending over in my garden, it happens too, or in a hot shower in the morning. I also have low blood sugar at times but it feels different. I feel foggy and my hands get shaky. It usually happens if I eat something I shouldn't have (refined carbs!) which causes a blood sugar spike, then crash. You're not on any bp meds, right? Are you taking vitamins? Being well hydrated does help. If it's low blood sugar, try not to go too long without eating, and avoid anything with white sugar and white flour.

your Dr. should check your bp lieing down then immediately after standing up. I think you will see a difference in the numbers. I too have been running low bp and get dizzy if I stand up too fast or bend over then straighten, or take a really hot shower or bath.

Hi - I had a few weeks of dizzy spells and fatigue too at about months 4-6. Getting up from a sitting position, moving my head too fast etc. I had a blood test and turns out my B-12 was very low. B-12 anemic. I started taking sub-ligual B-12, and over a few weeks the dizzy spells went away. Just a thought.
