Question:
WILL BCBS PPO OF MN COVER DS PROCEDURE

I HAVE CHOOSEN TO HAVE THE DS PROCEDURE AND I WAS TOLD THAT WITH BCBS PPO OF MN THEY MIGHT NOT COVER THAT PROCEDURE FOR ME. AND THAT I HEARD THAT IT ALSO DEPENDS ON EACH AND INDIVIDUAL PLANS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT MY BMI IS 40.2 WHICH IS LOW BUT IF YOU LIVE IN MY BODY YOU WOULDN'T THINK SO    — Yer P. (posted on May 12, 2005)

You might want to post this questions at the DS Community site here on OH. Also if you go to your surgeons page, it may list what insurances have covered the DS, then again you could just find out on your own by calling your health provider... I hope it covers it for you. I had the DS done in 12/2003 and its been marvelous! My best to you. Lyric

I have BC/BS of MN to. I know that they will cover RYN if you are BMI of 40 with co-morbities and have had a pych evalue. Had mine done in Sept, 03 down 134pds with no problems. Good luck Carrie
