Question:
Has anyone had WLS with Dr. McFee from UT in San Antonio, TX?

My insurance (United Health Care) will only approve the WLS through him. He been doing a procedure called Gastric Jeyonal Bypass (stomach stapling) for 20 yrs. He's not a member of the American Bariatric Society & he doesn't follow patients after two years post-op, so he doesn't have statistics. I see him next Wed, 5-12-99, for my second consult. Karen: I would do a little more research if I were you. Someone who will not follow you up (In my opinion) not a good choice. You will really need those follow-up visits. They are very important. The main fact that you stay with the surgeon that performed your surgery gives you the assurance that he stands behind his/ her own work. Please search out before consenting. Also, staples have been proven to come aloose and not work for the long term plan
