Question:
Has any one had Dr. Murr perform their Roux-n-y? What did you think?

Also how were the accomodations at Tampa General? I had a hysterectomy there 4 years ago, and I had a really great room. It even had a sofa so that my husband could spend the night with me. This was on the oncology floor and I was wondering how the other rooms are. I would like to have him or my sister-in-law stay with me during the night. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.    — Carol P. (posted on May 7, 2000)

I had lap rny with Dr. Murr on Feb 2nd. He was great but the staff at TGH was not. I would have liked to see Dr. Murr more often post-op than he required though. I had questions and when I called I just didn't get answers. I relized this after my first scheduled appt. and from that point I just made the appts. closer together...this worked great. I felt the staff at the hospital was overworked and could not give the attention to their patients that was needed. I didn't have a spacious room as you have described. It was very tiny and was 2 patients to a room. My daughter did stay (nurses tried to send her home several times but she strongly refused!) She slept in an upright chair...she's the best. I could not have done this without her help. I would suggest looking into having a private room if you want to have someone with you. They really don't want extra overnight people in the semi-private rooms. Also watch the food they bring you...it isn't always what is required on the "new" special diet we are on. If you want more information please just email me and I would be happy to respond. Good luck. Darcy
