Question:
Is it harder to get approved for a procedure not offered near you?

I want to get a DS, but there are no surgeons performing it in Texas.. how can I get my insurer to cover it if the surgeon is 1500 miles away? How long would I need to stay near the hospital? I have so many questions.. please help!    — Liane F. (posted on January 30, 2001)
