Question:
Know of any Michigan Dr. with lots of Lap experience?

At this point I am seriously considering having RNY sometime this summer. I think I would be a good candidate to have the laproscopic surgery but I would only be comfortable with a surgeon who has a lot of experience doing the lap RNY. Does anyone know of such a surgeon in Michigan? Is there some easy way to compare various surgeons when it comes to finding out basic information like how many (and what type of) surgeries they usually do, years experience, etc? I want to make a good and informed decision but I don't want to have to pay for several different consultations. Any suggestions would be appreciated.    — Amy K. (posted on March 27, 2001)

The Lap procedure doctor that I am aware of is Dr. Lane, at BTC, Forest Health in Ypsilanti. There is one problem though, BTC is not yet set up to do Laps though that is expected sometime this summer, I believe. Hope this helps. Diane C.
