Has anyone been cancelled with him and WHAT ARE THEY DOING??? Please let me know I'm not alone with this hurt have this chance taken away at the last minent!thnaks I'm not blaming the Dr. at all I don't think he had any say it was the hospitals NEWR RULE.    — blank first name B. I am sorry to hear this.. all I can say is perhaps this saved your life and is giving you an option to find another surgeon and hospital that is equipped to care for you. I can totally imagine how awful this must be. I wish you luck in your search.

What does the surgeon have to say about this? Does he have priviledges at another hospital? What if anything, is HE trying to do about this? I imagine the hospital is pulling this for LEGAL reasons - I doubt it has to do with your doctor's abilities. The larger the patient, the higher the risk of complications, which in turn increases the hospital's risk of ligation. It is usually the LEGAL department that runs the hospital, not the doctors. Put this back to your surgeon and find out what HE recommends you do.

I hate to say this and I know you probably don't want to hear it but have you thought about trying to loose enough weight to get to the 60BMI so that you could then have the procedure done. My surgeon is one of those that makes folks loose wt prior to the rny and I found it hard to do but at least I knew that I would not be regaining that weight back ever again. This whole surgery thing is an emotional time. Deciding to have surgery and weighing the pros and cons going through all the ins hoops etc. I know how heart sick you must feel right now So go ahead and cry those tears and when there are none left plan you next attack. It will be hard but you can do it. All of us at AMOS will be rooting for you.!!!!!

Hi, I noticed the dates on the other posts, have you had surgery yet? What is happening? I am seeing Dr. Barba and Dr. Lorenzo, they are both highly qualified, (chief, and asst chiefs of trauma surgery at St Francis HTFD. My name is Judy, email me at [email protected]. I want to know what your outcome was, I hope it was happy!
