I would say the Gainesville Surgical Group has been doing these surgeries a long time. That is what you want to look for, that office was one of first to do this surgery. You can go to Obesity Home Page, Find A Doc and browse list, then click on Florida, then the doctor and then view comments by patients. good luck

I dont' know anything about Dr. Brient. But, I am a patient of Dr. Thoburn's. I think he's a fantastic surgeon, and most definitely a life-saver. Mine. I don't think you'll be disappointed should you choose him as your surgeon. He's fantastic and has a wonderful aftercare program.
