Question:
Do you know of a plastic surgeon in the Kansas City area?

I live in Hutchinson, KS and am not having any luck locating a surgeon in my area. Does anyone know of a good plastic surgeon in the Kansas City area that does abdominoplasties, brachioplasties, and thigh lifts? They also have to being willing to help me fight the insurance (federal BC/BS)company if necessary. I also am wanting someone who has experience with bariatric patients. I want to have the insurance in the spring, but am searching now, because I figured it would take a while to go through all the hunting and hoops. Thanks    — jan M. (posted on September 21, 2002)

I am having RNY on the 23rd of April. I have Humana and they are covering mine. I have heard BCBS has an exclusion on weight loss surgery. Just an FYI, if you have sleep apnea or may and want to get tested for it. My Sister is having the vertical sleeve and they used the sleep apnea and got approved, they would not have done so if they had mentioned weight loss. (Which she needs). Turn around time for both of us was about a week for approval. Now...let me know if you find a plastic Surg in KC that will fight for TT with ins. Good luck! Charlotte
