Is there anyone out there who has United Healthcare EPO, who was waiting on approval?

Is there anyone out there who has United Healthcare EPO, who was waiting on approval? Did you build a repoire with a certain rep? I see some have gotten approval in 1-2 days. Why does it take so long? My info actually was faxed on 04/03/03 as of today 04/16/03 I haven't heard anything.    — bay (posted on April 16, 2003)

I have United Healthcare Select Plus POS, not the EPO. My paperwork was sent to the Care Coordination Dept. in Dallas on 4/4/03 and I still have no answer yet. I don't know why some people get approved quick and others have to wait weeks, I am just praying that everything goes through OK. Good luck.

Hi, I have UHC PPO, mine was phoned in on March 20. Everytime I call them they say no case has been opened. When I call the surgeons office she reassures me it has been. In the meantime I did manage to get a date set, May 20, however I am not that excited since without the insurance approval, it means nothing. Good luck to you.

I have UHC..and with alot of phone calls I recieved my acceptance the day before surgery!!!! Nerve wracking or what! Let your Dr. submitt....but check up often. My acceptance was called in. Good Luck and don't give up!

I haven't yet applied, but when I spoke to them on the phone they said usually within 10-15 days, I hear lots of phone calls usually speed them along. Most of the drs I talked to said UHC was one of the better ones!
