Question:
Has anyone been approved by COBRA for open RNY?

`COBRA is not insurance It is a government thing that lets you keep insurance while youlook for work etc. The insurance company still decides. I was approved and had surgery while under COBRA benefits

I just got approved for surgery last wednesday. I am on COBRA for Aetna HMO. It took a while to get the letters to the correct office, but once the right people had them, it took about 2 weeks. I don't think it took that long for them to decide, I just had to wait my turn for the review process. Go ahead & send your request, the worst that could happen is that they say "No" the first time, but then you can appeal. There are lots of people here that can help with appeals if it gets to that point. Go Get 'Em!! Warm Healing Skinny thoughts to all:)

I was approved while on COBRA. Just do not miss a payment. Its the same insurance you had before and no one is aware that you are Cobra except the billing Dept. of your insurance Co. The Approval Dept. did not know me from any other subscriber.
