Question:
Anyone know of a Support Group in the Providence, RI area?

Also, I was wondering if anyone has donated blood after having WLS. I had surgery 5/8/01 and would like to donate but I have always been borderline with Iron so I'm thinking that I would not be accepted. Any thoughs?    — Karen Q. (posted on September 18, 2001)

I had surgery 11/99. I donated 1 time....it took me a month to feel "normal"again! Ask your dr if it is ok for you.

There is a great support group that meets at Hasbro Childrens Hospital on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30. I have gone to two meetings and found it to be very helpful. When I leave I am always psyched. Dr. Roye has been present along with his nurse practioner and a nutritionist.
