The water issue was a tough one for me, too. Seemed like it was just filling me up, and felt like with all the time I have to take out of my day waiting after I eat.. there weren't going to be enough ours in the day to get it all in! Now I'm 7 weeks post-op and it's MUCH easier. I can take nearly a 'normal' drink now, instead of a sip.. and it doesn't seem to 'land' on my stomach so hard anymore. I'm finding it almost an unconscious act anymore - take a drink / take a breath.. all about the same.. lol. Good luck

HI, I had a real problem with water also...I still do not enjoy it like I did pre-op. It took me until about 4 months post -op to be able to drink 4 big gulps at a time. I ended up drinking skim milk...it went down easier and I ate a box of SF popcycles each day to get fluids in. Try other liquids...it takes awhile but suddenly you will realize you don't feel the plop into your pouch like you do now...good luck.

I too had HUGE problems with water. I loved the ice chips in the hospital and had no trouble (I think the pain meds masked any problems). I am coming up on three months post-op VG and can now tolerate water. It is getting easier, but I also don't enjoy it like I used to. In the beginning my doctor told me to really water down low sugar fruit juices. I watered them down like 3 to 1 (3 being the water and 1 being the juice) after that I had no problems at all with the water.

I am 7 weeks post-op and am finally beginning to drink the water I should. I still don't always get it in. I think 10 days post op is too soon to get much in. Just get what you can in, and try to take small sips. One thing I do almost all the time is check the color of my unrine. If it's dark, I drink up! I like a drink called "Propel" by the people at Gatorade. It's really good. I try to drink 1 per day, along w/ other S/F drinks. Good Luck
