Question:
How do you decide who to choose!?!?!?!?

Sorry guys, I originally posted this question on the message board instead of here (I'm new to the posting thing). I'm wondering how you decide which doctor to choose. I am kinda torn between two right now, and am not sure how to tell who is "right" for me. So far I have only had contact with their office staff's, but both have been fantastic. I have consults scheduled with both, and am hoping someone can give me some idea of what to look for, or good questions to ask. I usually go off my own personal intuition about people, but this is a little serious for me to go off feelings!! Thanks!!!    — blank first name B. (posted on August 28, 2002)

Amber- I had two doctors to look at also. The first thing I did was locate two post op from this web page. One from each doctor. I e-mailed them to see if I could meet them (seperatly) for lunch and talk to them about their surgery. Once I had that information I contact several friends in the medical field (most of them were from church) and asked their opinion on each doctor. After that I was pretty sure which doctor was best for me. I hope this helps.

Amber, see if you can find others here on this web site that have used these two doctors-there is a place for that here, where it lists for you all those on this web site who have profiled that particular doctor. Then you can read about their experiences and perhaps contact them for more info. Also, each doctor should have a support group - go to the support group meetings and you'll hopefully find hundreds of satisfied customers to talk to. Also check with the medical board in your State to ensure that each is Board certified. As for me, I knew I wanted lap and so sought out a doctor who specialized in laproscopic surgeries and also I checked which medical school he went to-it was a well known school and he had been doing lap exclusively for 4 years-then when I met him with a whole list of questions, he was patient and knowledgeable. That was enough for me.
