Question:
First abdominal pain at 11 weeks post-op

I am 11 weeks post-op and except for the usual tenderness have had no pain until this last week. The lower part of my inscision area feels tender and bruised. The pain is not constant, but comes and goes during the day. And heaven help me if I roll over quickly at night. Have an appointment on the 15th, but just wondered if anyone else has had pain months after surgery. I am worried about a hernia or muscle tear?    — Lynne G. (posted on May 4, 2003)

AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME, 8 WEEKS POST OP, I EXPERIENCED A TWINGE OF PAIN, NOT CONSTANT BUT WHEN I WOULD MOVE A CERTAIN WAY, IT WAS AROUND OR NEAR THE BELLY BUTTON AREA. PEOPLE SAID IT WOULD GO AWAY. THAT IT WAS THE INSIDE INCISION ON THE MUSCLE AND THEY WERE RIGHT IT WAS GONE IN 4 OR 5 DAYS THE MOST. I DID HAVE LAP RNY.
