Am I eating too much?

Hi Peggy, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had my surgery the day after you.
I have lost 62 pounds. I get in my protein, drink my water ,exercise and
watch what I eat. I started at 249. I get down sometimes because I think
I'm not losing fast enough but you know what? I went look for me a coat for
Christmas. Guess what size I bought? 12/14!!! Can you believe it? I
couldn't. I started out wearing 22 or 24 dresses. I went straight for the
plus sizes. I tried on a 16/18. My mom said I should try on a smaller
size. I could not believe it fit. I didn't have to pay that extra $10 for
the plus size one.:) So ... even though I haven't lost as fast as I
thought, I'm still excited (with the constant thought I won't make it to
goal:) So after saying all this I just want to encourage you that you are
doing great and you are not the only slow loser:)God bless and happy
holidays,Marie

I think many people hit a major plateau at around the 5 month mark - I know
I did, and going through the library, you will see many others. It's great
that you are getting your water, protein, and exercise in! I would
actually try and see if upping your calorie intake would help. A change
like that can help the body realize that it doesn't need to go into
starvation mode. Try not to stress about the plateau - there will be many
more in your journey - lol.

Hey, my nutritionist recommends 5 hours of cardio a week for weightloss.
I'm still not at 5 hours, but I am at 4 hours. When I only go to the gym
2x a week, I maintain. It's just my metabolism I guess.
You are in the normal range of loss, so I wouldn't worry about that. Also
you are under 200 pounds now, so your loss is going to be slower.
If you step up the exercise you will break your plateau. I am always
envious of people who can lose weight w/o exercise. I am definitely not
one.
