There is a Dr. Baker and a Dr. Buchwold but they are not at the same hospital. There is Unity Hospital and University of Min. Go to onelist.com and join the MN list and many on there can help you.

Absolutely! The president of the American Assocaition of Bariatric Surgeons is in the Twin Cities! Dr. Henry Buchwald at Fairview U of M. I'm in the Twin Cities and had my surgery with him, he's wonderful. There are other doctors as well, I'd be happy to give you more info. We even have a local mail list if you're interested. I contacted the association of bariatric surgeons to find out who in the twin cities does the surgery. There are four....Dr. Baker (unity hospital), Dr. Buchwald(university of Minnesota), Dr. Rupp (united hospital), and Dr. Drew(not sure which hospital). They all do their own specialties of the surgery. I would check each one to find out what it is they specialize in and what their aftercare is like.

I had DR. Drew. He and his Partner DR. Schwartz both are at Abbott Northwestern. They have exellent records both have done over a thousand open RNY's. Last spring they started doing Lap and are the only ones in the state that do so. There is also a DR. Traub at Mercy I believe. So you can add her name to the others you have been given.
