Does Kaiser do outside approvals?

Has anyone ever heard of Kaiser covering the cost of surgery for wls through someone other than their contracted surgeons?    — Mary C. (posted on March 25, 2000)

I've heard of several people (some on this site) in San Diego, who have Kaiser and were referred to Pacific Bariatrics. And others (in different areas) whom Kaiser has referred out. Did you search Kaiser on this site?

Yes Mary, Kaiser does pay for outside Surgeon in Virginia...I too have Kaiser and they are picking up the tab...who knows I may be saving THEM money! Surgery 4-05-00 I'm so excited and more than ready to GO!!
