Question:
Looking for info on Dr. Gladen in Fresno Ca.

Hi, I have a consult in September (what a long wait) with Dr. Gladen. Dr. Higa was my choice, as I wanted lap rny, but he doesn't take my insurance, so my doctor's office refferred me to Gladen. Kristi, I work with someone who just had surgery about a month ago with him. Also another person I work with's sister in law goes into surgery tomorrow. I haven't heard anything bad, though. I had problems with Higas office. They were going to put me off also. I chose Dr. Felix. Any info anyone has on him would always be appreciated also. Good luck, Kristi!

My daughter had surgery by Dr. Gladen 3 weeks ago and is doing fine. He is an excellent surgeon with a lot of experience. I think the problem is that he is extremely busy and there is a long waiting period. What I don't like is that my daughter has to see his assistant for the post-op checks instead of him.

I had a consult with Dr. Gladen last week and he was very friendly and informative. He answered all my questions and I feel comfortable with my choice for choosing him as my surgeon.

I had an appt. with Dr. Gladen in January and it was cancelled. I received a letter stating that he is no longer doing surgery and that the WLS program was cancelled.

I HAD SURGERY BY DR. GLADEN ON 12/14/01 AND HAVE LOST 60 POUNDS AND 49 INCHES TO DATE. HE IS THE MOST WONDERFUL, CARING MAN I HAVE EVER MET. HE DOES ALOT OF HIGH RISK SURGERIES THAT OTHER DOCTORS IN THE FRESNO AREAS TURN DOWN. TO ME, THIS MAN IS A SAINT. HE HAS ESSENTIALLY GIVEN ME A NEW LIFE. HE HELPS BUILD SELF ESTEEM!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER PICKED ANOTHER DOCTOR AFTER TALKING WITH DOC. HIS PA IS A GREAT LADY, BUT IF YOU WANT TO SEE HIM PERSONALLY, THEY WILL SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM. HE GOES OVER AND OVER THE RISKS OF THIS SURGERY BEFORE YOU GET A DATE TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF EVERYTHING. HIS OFFICE STAFF IS WONDERFUL. I HAVE CALLED THEM TONS OF TIMES AND THEY ARE ALWAYS SO HELPFUL. LISA, THE SURGERY SCHEDULER IS THE BEST! MARLENE IS ALWAYS EAGER TO HELP TOO. Dr Gladen was asked to stop performing GP because of his higher than normal death rate. You can read the article from the Fresno Bee by pasting the link below into your browser.
