Tracy, I had the same idea but haven't gone and bought a juicer yet. I think a good carrott and apple juice would be very good for us vitamin wise. I see no reason why it would hurt unless we with the RNY have trouble with the very sweet/natural sugared fruits. I'm anxious to hear what others think.

I think it is a great idea.....I thought about the same thing about a month and half ago. And I bought a Vita-Mix at the fair. It is great and my kids love it as well. I am having my LAP RNY in two days. I think it will probable be at least a week before I will try to use it. But afterwards I think it will be the best thing for me as far as getting all the Vitamons and Protien and it all tasting great as well (Which is important to me...for it to taste good). Good luck to you all.

Once in a while I have a hard time eating-no appetite so therefore I make juice drinks in a cuisinart blender (department store $129.00). It's good for you and doesn't give you that yuck I'm too full feel so it's very appropriate. I drink many homeade juices. Well they're sort of juices. I just put the fruit (raspberries, oranges, pineapples, bananas, cherries, peaches) in the blender with ice and water and sometimes equal. Hey it's food!

Howdy! I bought a JuiceManII before I had RNY surgery. I used it to make some creamed soups, by juicing carrots and adding dry milk powder and spices. I used it just this week (I'm 5 and 1/2 mo post op) to make some celery/carrot/strawberry and celery/carrot/apple juices because I came down with a short case of gout or pseudo-gout. I did some research on the Internet when this happened and discovered that "rapid weight loss" can set off an attack of gout! Amazing! Anyway, I read that celery juice and strawberries can 'eat up' the uric acid crystals which build up and cause the gout symptoms.
