Question:
When should I look into getting the COBRA paperwork started?

I lost my job on Oct. 12th but my exemployer is paying my insurance benefits until Jan.31st. My Hubby is self-employed without insurance. When should I get the paperwork started for COBRA? YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY IS SUPPOSE TO SEND YOU THE PAPERWORK TO GET COBRA STARTED. IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN, THEY HAVE TO PROVIDE YOUR INSURANCE FOR UP TO 18 MONTHS AT THE SAME COST REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE INSURANCE IS USED FOR.THESE MAY HELP YOU OUT.
