Question:
Anyone out there, who is more than 12 months post op, lose less than 100 lbs?

If so, how much did you weigh/how tall on day of surgery?    — Cathy S. (posted on November 21, 2002)

Hi Cathy. I started at 245, 5'6", BMI 40 on Nov 11, 2001. I am now 149, normal BMI, normal body fat, but have lost less than 100 lbs. I lost half of what I have lost within the first 3 months, and slowed as I became closer to goal. I would like to lose 4 more lbs. within the next 2 months, but in no hurry as I feel great! I just want to say that I've lost 100 lbs.!!

I had DS/Switch on 7/9/2001. I weighed 315 pounds. In 16 months, I've lost only 94 - 99 pounds. I fluctuate between 216 and 221. My IDEAL goal was to lose 190 pounds, so I still have 96 pounds to go. I had hip and back problems for the first 10 months post surgery that prevented me from any exercise, including swimming. Once the physical problems were resolved (1 year post surgery), the weight started coming off again rather well. Now, it's five months later and I seem to have stopped losing again. Even if I can't reach my ideal weight goal, I very much want to lose at least another 75 pounds. If anyone has any suggestions for continued weight loss when one has reached 18 months post-op, please let me know!

I'm 16 months post-op and am still trying to go for the "gold". I was 260# the day of surgery and am now flucating between 164-167#. I lost 90# in the first 10 months and have been plateauing ever since. What a bummer!:(
