Question:
I have a huge panni (lost 150 pounds, 11 mths post op) and it hangs down on my legs.

When you have a pannectomy or abdominalpastry, do they cut all of the panni off? Will I still have it hanging down or will it be gone? Thanks for the advice.    — Judy W. (posted on June 11, 2003)

It will be gone! -ectomy is the removal of something (like tonsill-ectomy, append-ectomy). In an abdominoplasty, they will "tighten up " lax abdominal muscles.

I had a panniculectomy/lower body lift/hernia repair in February and remember waking from surgery and feeling for my panni! IT WAS COMPLETELY GONE! It has taken me a while to get used to my new body including a lap when I sit down and about 4 more inches of visible leg.

I had my panni off on March 10th of this year. The PS took off 10 lbs of skin. I am thrilled, it was the best surgery besides my WLS. I have lost 160 lbs total. Becky
