Question:
Has anyone read the profile of Sharon Devillier?

This womens profile is so inspiring to me, eventhough i have only been post-op 4 months, and she has been post-op for 5 years (please read her profile). It can happen to anyone of us that has had this surgery. Just remember it is not guaranteed that we will lose what we want to lose.    — sexysag37 (posted on June 26, 2003)

Thanks for advising us to read Sharon's profile. It is very interesting but sad too. She has such courage to face her problems up front and such honesty. I am sure Sharon is not alone in her struggle and there are many others who are not as honest or maybe ashamed to admit the struggle to lose weight. I am just wondering if there might be a mechanical problem in her surgery. Maybe she has SLD or an enlarged stoma. I hope she has asked her surgeon to check out these things. I can tell she is suffering but she does have a great attitude and it appears she is on the right track now. Everyone needs to read Sharon's profile and encourage her however we can. God bless Sharon!

YES I JUST READ IT AND I CAN RELATE TO HERE PROBLEM. THIS IS A PRIME TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT OUR BODY ARE DIFFERENT. WHAT WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE ELSE THEIR WILL BE ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT ARE KNOT BY PASSED ENOUGHT AND THE WEIGHT LOSS WILL BE LESS. AND MAYBE THE SURGERY OF CHOICE WAS NOT THE RIGHT LONE FOR THAT PERSON. I CAN RELATE TO HER ALOT. I FEEL THAT WE ALL HAVE MADE A LIFE TIME CHANGES AND OUR DIET ARE NOT ALWAYS THE PROBLEM. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. I FEEL THE SURGERON SHOULD DO A BETTER JOB OF EXPLAINING THE DIFFERENT TYPE OF SURGERY AND STOP PUSHING THE RNY SURGERY IF A PERSON IS OVER 300LBS.

I would be interested to read about her experience also. How do you go about finding her profile?

Click on Peers and type in her last name. It will be the only one that comes up under "Devillier".

I read it. She has an excellent sense of humor and creative writing skills. It's not always easy to put in words what you are thinking. I guess it just goes to show that it is ultimately "up to us" to change our eating pattern.

I can't believe all the support I've been getting! I always thought I was talking to myself when I posted because I just knew people would just go past me -- no one wants to hear a sob story. I thought it was good therapy to put it in a journal. I was wondering why all of a sudden people were being so supportive since Thursday until I was told about the Q & A Posting! I never expected this but it feels soooooo good to know that I have you all out there rooting for me! Thanks to everyone. I feel good knowing that I'm not really alone at this... Luv Sharon*
