Has anyone had any experience positive/negative with getting approval from BCCA-HMO?

Have you had any experience (positive/negative) with Blue Cross California Care - HMO? More specifically, has anyone had any experience with the medical group Scripps Medical Associates East County? Please advise.    — B. B. (posted on September 22, 1999)

Yes, I have Blue Cross Calif. Care HMO, and I had the surgery on June 18th 1999 and Aug. 14th 1999. The first surgery left me with a leak, so I had to go through the second surgery in Aug. My surgery was performed by Dr. Festus Dada in Wildomar at Inland Valley Regional Med. Center. Do yourself a favor, and check into the doctor's credentials BEFORE you let him operate. My doctor specializes in colon and rectal surgeries, so far I have not been able to find any credentials for the gastric bypass surgeries. So who ever your HMO sends you to.....check them out!!!
