If you had a LAP, who was your doctor and would you reccommend??

I had my lap 5/8/00 Dr. Carson Lui, UCLA, California. My husband
Dale Pool had his 6/9/00, Carson Lui, UCLA, Ca. We are both very
happy with our results!

I had a LAP RNY on 5/1/2000. My surgeon is Dr. David Provost and his
partner, Dr. Jones. I am very pleased with him. He practices at UTSW
Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

My doctor was totally,completely, awesome. Although he is new (1 year) at
the bariatric side of this, he's been doing laproscopy and teaching it for
about 9 or 10 years. He's done more hernias lap successfully than anyone
else in the USA. I had my surgery last Wednsday afternoon, got out Friday
morning and have felt fine since. My surgery took 1hour and 40 minutes, no
catheter, didn't need pain machine after 10 am Thursday morning. He did 4
others the same day. They all did just as well as I did. Today, 5 days
after surgery I went grocery shopping, and to a couple of banks, plus a
short trip to Target. All without feeling terribly tired. He is
excellent! His name if Dr. Edward Felix of Fresno, CA. I hope you find
one as good as I did.

Hi, I haven't had Lap (yet). I haven't been able to due to my current ins
won't cover(hopefully when we change it next yr I'll be able too).
Although I have been using my time wisely and researching info. I am from
Ironton Oh(So Oh) and I have been searching for lap surgeons close to me I
found one in Columbus (associated with Ohio State Univ.) Dr. Scott Melvin.
I also found one in Charleston WVA and I was able to email him directly and
he responded, I have emailed one of his patients and she was very pleased
with him I have also (thru this site) read up on him and I have seen some
very pleased people. If you have any questions I'd be happy to supply you
with any info I have.

I had my Lap RNY done by Dr. Clark down in San Diego. The Alvarado team in
San Diego developed the Lap RNY procedure. Drs. Clark and Wittgrove did
400 Lap/Open procedures last year. They are both very good. The only down
side is that they are also extremely busy.
